HealthSavor Menu for 10/7/14

Fish Tacos (Wild Caught Cod or Tofu) – The breading, made from ground cashews, smoked paprika, Old Bay seasoning, and nutritional yeast packs so much flavor that these tacos taste just as awesome whether you choose Fish or Tofu. 5-6 sticks are served on the side of shredded cabbage, red onion, carrot, jalapenos, cilantro, two gluten-free spinach tortillas, and a side of chia tartar sauce. Your co-workers will be very jealous. (Choose Fish or Tofu)

Pecan Chicken with Grilled Asparagus-Veggie Medley – Happy, free-roaming, well tended chickens (Gerber Farms, Kidron, Ohio) make all of our chicken dishes healthier and tastier than most breast fillets you can get. We marinate ours overnight before breading them in an irresistible pecan based crust. Lightly sauteed asparagus, sliced peppers, onions, and more veggies are served on the side.

Creamy Veggie Lasagna – A new spin on lasagna, with a white sauce base reminiscent of alfredo with herbs, lots of veggies, and zucchini noodles. We’ll make this one big and tall, and top it with Cabot’s naturally lactose-free cheese.  (Choose Cheese or No Cheese)

Broccoli-Cauliflower-Chickpea-Chicken or Tofu Curry – Well, we didn’t save any words for the description. Simple and effective curry without the use of heavy cream and too much salt. We do add some, but shouldn’t YOU be able to choose how much sodium you want in your food? We think so. (Choose Chicken or Tofu)

Broccoli and Mushroom Bake: Sort of like a baked spaghetti, we’ll mix broccoli, mushrooms, onions, herbs and a house-made garlic cream sauce with soy noodles and top it with a sprinkle ofcheese. Cozy and delicious. (Choose Cheese or No Cheese)

Butternut Squash/Coconut/LimeSoup – Warm, healthy comfort food. Chef Brandon’s much-requested recipe made with a dash of coriander, garam masala, and cilantro. No salt or sugar added, or needed. Potassium and vitamin A galore (in the form of Beta-Cryptoxanthin, shown to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties)

Breakfast

Broccoli-Caramelized Onion Omelet – Simple and effective way to power your day. Broccoli and caramelized onions go perfect with Cabot’s cheese, nutritional yeast for a variety of B-vitamins, and flavor of course, all sauteed and cooled, then mixed with farm fresh eggs (Milford, Ohio), ready to stir, pour in a skillet, and cook to your desired texture.

Asparagus-Artichoke-Pesto and Goat Cheese Quiche – A slice of our popular quiche, packed with veggies and topped with pesto drizzle. We like the taste of the roasty tomatoes on top of the quiches, so we will add those in, too.

Breakfast Burritos – Farm fresh eggs whipped and cooked with nutritional yeast, roasted red peppers, locally produced turkey sausage (Busch’s Country Corner, Findlay) and Cabot’s cheese wrapped in a thin brown rice tortilla. You get two!

Extras

Asparagus-Artichoke-Pesto and Goat Cheese Quiche – We figured you may want to pick up some more these slices of delight, so grab a full pie (6 slices) for yourself and/or family! As seen in our breakfast pack, this weeks quiche is packed with the aforementioned veggies and topped with pesto drizzle. We like the taste of the roasty tomatoes on top of the quiches, so we will add those in, too. $18

Under the C (Fresh Juice) – A massively refreshing vitamin C boost, just in time for back-to-school cold season. Apples, kiwi, cucumbers, and limes are punctuated with fresh mint and ginger. Not exactly fall-centric, but we’re not just going to juice carrots, kale, and apples all season, you know. $15

Kids

Kids Sketti w/Turkey Meatballs – HealthSavor signature marinara (nutritionally amped with kale, chia, and nutritional yeast), quinoa pasta, and our Amish turkey meatballs, sprinkled with Cabot’s cheese brings a classic dish that everyone loves into SuperFood Status! $8

Kid’s Pecan Crusted Chicken Tenders – Our pecan chicken is so flavorful, it can be enjoyed hot, or straight out of the lunch box! We’re going to make a local, unprocessed honey (Hamilton, Ohio) mustard for dipping, some applesauce, and add a side of spinach/kale chips to sneak in 30% vitamin A and 70% vitamin K, while keeping it portable. $10

Guilt-Free Sweets
Klondike Bars (Dairy-free, Paleo) – You remember the jingle, right? “What would you dooOOoo…” We’ll take this extremely messy and not so healthy classic and make a creamy cashew based filling, add some vanilla, 100% natural and local maple syrup, and local, unrefined honey, and cover them in melted dark chocolate. I know it’s technically not ice cream season anymore, but I stumbled upon this recipe in my research and had to give it a try. Thanks to Detoxinista.com.
